Interactive Drawing Box

So here are some low res pix of this interactive drawing box that I created in collaboration with the amazing talents of Adam Roth and JT Steiny.

It's going to make its first ever appearance at Chucos Justice Center in Inglewood for this year's FMLYFEST.

People can draw on the scroll canvas on both sides and then scroll it when the area is filled...im thinking of developing this further by incorporating some video and perhaps some augmented reality stuff on it in the future.

So, come to the FMLYFEST and check out all the amazing bands and art and make sure you contribute to the Interactive Drawing Box!

The picture is not the thing, because the thing is something you gotta see in person to interact with!

Mama's Joy Residency

So Im also in this musical project, Mama's Joy. I always tell people that its not really a band -its more or less something that happens when we all get together. We're doing some kind of residency night at Casey's Pub downtown with some interesting acts. Come check it out if you wanna find out where those yuppies blow their hard-earned moolah nowadays. The show is free and the drinks on me. Not!

Anyways, heres a poster that I did for that.

FMLYFEST 2011

FmlyFest is one of the most awesome festivals to happen in LA. And its totally DIY (or DIT as in do-it-together) Amazing bands and art and workshops are gonna be happening there so make sure to go and get tickets now if you haven't yet! I might also have some interactive art over there.

I made this poster which was colored in by my friend Adam Roth, who makes some bad-ass art too!

VANITY PROJECTS Compilation Album Art

Anika for LA RECORDS

Just did a quick illustration of this new artist called Anika for LA Record today.
I swear I've never heard of her beforehand but after checking out her music, I think i'm digging her sounds. Some post-punk. Some dub. Some girl group. My kind of jams!

The Black Plague Will Swallow Us All @ Pehrspace

i got the chance to help out ghost ghost teeth transform your friendly neighborhood Monday hang-out last week for the show that opened this weekend entitled "The Black Plague Will Swallow Us All". It was lots of fun painting the walls of Pehrspace with Simon Tran (GGT) and i gotta admit that i totally got carried away by the theme.

Anyways, I have two pieces on this show thats gonna be up for the whole month of October and I'm putting em up for a hundred bucks in case somebody wants something in their lives to absorb all the negative energy thats around them. And if you really want to have it and don't have the money, I dare you to steal it!

Pictures would probably convey a better idea of what happened, so here ya go.

Spent the last few days working on a new installation called "To Rise Above This Art Inferno" and its going to be part of this artist0curated group show at the Shoshana Wayne Gallery in Bergamot Station. ONE TRICK PONY T-SHIRT DESIGN

made this new t-shirt design for One Trick Pony, whose upcoming album "Try Not To Worry About It So Much" sounds really awesome! I made the design inspired by the songs on that album and a bit of Bergman's "The Seventh Seal" which is on of my ultimate favorite movies. I also noticed afterwards that it had that kind of A Clockwork Orange vibe going on due to the shape of the image.

Watch out for their album coming out on the 19th of July!

Discoral USA Cover

this is the cover for a new mini comix zine that i am putting out on limited copies of 100.
its called Discoral USA which is based on those local sound systems that they had in the rural parts of the Philippines where i grew up. These sound systems would set up in basketball courts or open fields and would blast trancey dance music all night long that everyone can dance to.

BODY PAINTING PICS

Here are pictures of the Yilin Wang, the model that was paired with me for the body painting event and opening art show that they had at Le Spec Gallery. I was kind of hesitant and nervous doing this coz i wasn't sure what she was like but after I met her i discovered that she was really cool and a sport about it all. A real professional to work with. So, everything went smoothly. I would have loved to paint all of her body but since we we only had around 2 hours to do this, I just did what i could. I sold some of the small pieces that I had up at this show and was truly happy about it. It was a great fun show to be a part of especially with all the cool and awesome artists that I got to do it with. Anyways, if any of you out there are interested to purchase some of the art that are still up in Le Spec Gallery, you can click HERE.

Fresh and Easy Design Submission

on Rhea's suggestion, i have submitted a design for the new Fresh and Easy bag for the hope of no having to buy any groceries for the rest of the year. SO, if Luck is good to me this year, perhaps you'll see my design the next time you buy groceries in your neighborhood Fresh and Easy. Here is what it looks like...
