So here are some low res pix of this interactive drawing box that I created in collaboration with the amazing talents of Adam Roth and JT Steiny.

It's going to make its first ever appearance at Chucos Justice Center in Inglewood for this year's FMLYFEST.

People can draw on the scroll canvas on both sides and then scroll it when the area is filled...im thinking of developing this further by incorporating some video and perhaps some augmented reality stuff on it in the future.

So, come to the FMLYFEST and check out all the amazing bands and art and make sure you contribute to the Interactive Drawing Box!

The picture is not the thing, because the thing is something you gotta see in person to interact with!

Mama's Joy Residency

So Im also in this musical project, Mama's Joy. I always tell people that its not really a band -its more or less something that happens when we all get together. We're doing some kind of residency night at Casey's Pub downtown with some interesting acts. Come check it out if you wanna find out where those yuppies blow their hard-earned moolah nowadays. The show is free and the drinks on me. Not!

FmlyFest is one of the most awesome festivals to happen in LA. And its totally DIY (or DIT as in do-it-together) Amazing bands and art and workshops are gonna be happening there so make sure to go and get tickets now if you haven't yet! I might also have some interactive art over there.

i got the chance to help out ghost ghost teeth transform your friendly neighborhood Monday hang-out last week for the show that opened this weekend entitled "The Black Plague Will Swallow Us All". It was lots of fun painting the walls of Pehrspace with Simon Tran (GGT) and i gotta admit that i totally got carried away by the theme.

Anyways, I have two pieces on this show thats gonna be up for the whole month of October and I'm putting em up for a hundred bucks in case somebody wants something in their lives to absorb all the negative energy thats around them. And if you really want to have it and don't have the money, I dare you to steal it!

Pictures would probably convey a better idea of what happened, so here ya go.

made this new t-shirt design for One Trick Pony, whose upcoming album "Try Not To Worry About It So Much" sounds really awesome! I made the design inspired by the songs on that album and a bit of Bergman's "The Seventh Seal" which is on of my ultimate favorite movies. I also noticed afterwards that it had that kind of A Clockwork Orange vibe going on due to the shape of the image.

Watch out for their album coming out on the 19th of July!

this is the cover for a new mini comix zine that i am putting out on limited copies of 100.
its called Discoral USA which is based on those local sound systems that they had in the rural parts of the Philippines where i grew up. These sound systems would set up in basketball courts or open fields and would blast trancey dance music all night long that everyone can dance to.

Here are pictures of the Yilin Wang, the model that was paired with me for the body painting event and opening art show that they had at Le Spec Gallery. I was kind of hesitant and nervous doing this coz i wasn't sure what she was like but after I met her i discovered that she was really cool and a sport about it all. A real professional to work with. So, everything went smoothly. I would have loved to paint all of her body but since we we only had around 2 hours to do this, I just did what i could. I sold some of the small pieces that I had up at this show and was truly happy about it. It was a great fun show to be a part of especially with all the cool and awesome artists that I got to do it with. SO, Ive had a really crazy night last night. MY EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE GOT CORRUPTED!!! and I don't have any copies of some files...I kinda freaked out at first but its a weird feeling knowing you've lost something intangible and somehow, I just kept telling myself, it doesn't matter. Luckily, Dave helped me out recover some files. A few are gone forever but I'm not gonna trip over it. I'm just glad I got back a lot of important data. Its hard coming into terms with the lifespan of certain electronic gadgets. Its easy to take things for granted sometimes especially when its gadgets that make everything easier for you. Somehow, I am just barely coming into terms to this. After that incident, I thought it would be best to keep posting all the other stuff in my drive, just so they can be online in case...just in case...

Downtown Art Show

Last Friday I took part of this art show in downtown LA and "showed some of my works". I only had three pieces in the show but i stuck several of my big drawings that i drew on these roll paper wrappers that i get from my work on the leats likely places people expect to find some kind of art. I had it all over the place, being visible but not calling too much attention, just enough to be noticed by the people who were paying attention. You see art shows tend to be an occasion of visual sensory overload, you see all kinds of shit and people and it can be too overwhelming so i thought, why don't put some of my stuff all around and see if it really makes any diference if the art is showcased in gallery wall or just a regular wall. Does that make it any less art? It was just a spur of the moment idea that i decided to execute (Thanx to girl named Lizzy for all the help putting tape on 'em) Anyways, later on that night, people just somehow started taking 'em down to keep and so i just decided to give those away to people. It was good to know at least on my part, that people wanted to keep it and have it. That alone means much more to me than having my art shown though it was truly a great show with a good turnout, i still feel weird about having my stuff be part of "art shows" but any chance to have people see it is fine i guess. I just finished the new "Smile Hard" and had some copies at the show and now i'm currently working on new comix and some drawings for a music video. I've also talked to the guy at Hi De Ho Comics in Santa Monica about having some of my stuff on collateral and they seem to be open for my kind of stuff so I'm hoping to make several copies this week to be available there for a dollar or two. Anyways, Here's some images from the show.
